Air conditioning repair in Wellington
Wellington homes put their air conditioners through a lot. Systems here run for most of the year, many neighborhoods date to the 1980s and 1990s, and a lot of houses have been added onto over time, so the original ductwork is often feeding more square footage than it was designed for. When a system quits in the middle of summer, it is usually one of a short list of parts: a failed capacitor or contactor, a clogged condensate drain, a refrigerant leak at the coil, or a blower motor that has been running hot for years.
We diagnose the actual cause before recommending anything. If a repair makes sense, we fix it. If the system is old, leaking refrigerant or costing more to keep running than it is worth, we will tell you that plainly and give you a free estimate on a replacement so you can compare.
What we see most often in Wellington
- Clogged condensate drains and tripped float switches from high humidity and algae
- Weak or failed capacitors and contactors on outdoor units in direct sun
- Refrigerant leaks on older evaporator coils
- Barn, stable and guest-house systems that see dust, hay and heavy run time
- Homes closed up for the summer by seasonal residents coming back to high humidity and musty air
- Additions and remodels where far rooms never reach the thermostat setting
Equestrian properties and seasonal homes
Wellington is horse country, and barns and tack rooms are hard on equipment. Dust and debris load up filters and coils quickly, and the systems often run longer hours than the main house. We service split systems and mini-splits in barns, stables, apartments and guest quarters, and we can schedule maintenance around your season so the barn is ready when the horses are.
If you leave Wellington for part of the year, do not shut the AC off. Set it to a moderate temperature with humidity control if your thermostat has it, and have the drain line checked before you leave. A blocked drain in an empty house can overflow for weeks before anyone notices.
AC maintenance in Wellington
A maintenance visit covers coil condition, the condensate drain and safety switch, refrigerant charge, capacitor and contactor health, blower amperage and the airflow coming out of the registers. Most homes do well with one visit a year. Barns, homes with pets, and systems older than ten years usually benefit from two.

Common questions
Do you repair all AC brands?
Yes. We work on all major brands, including Trane, American Standard, Rheem, Ruud and Goodman.
Should I repair or replace my AC?
If the system is under about ten years old and the repair is a single part, repair usually makes sense. If it is older, uses phased-out R-22 refrigerant, or needs a compressor or coil, replacement is often the better value. We will show you both numbers.
Do you work in gated communities?
Yes. Let us know your gate instructions when you call, and if your HOA requires approval for new equipment we can provide the specifications you need.
